REHABILITATION OF AN INDIVIDUAL SUFFERING FROM FAT PAD ATROPHY OF HEEL

ABSTRACT
Background: Millions of women throughout the world suffer from chronic heel discomfort. Although the evidence is still inconclusive, fat pad atrophy has been suggested as a contributing factor degeneration of the protective fatty tissue located beneath the skin, particular in the ball of the foot and heel. Serve as a natural cushion and shock absorber for the foot.
Purpose: This case study investigates the rehabilitation of an individual suffering from fat pad atrophy of heel. Participant: This case study focuses on treating a 35-year-old female and findings were according to treatment.
Methods: The patient was delivered six session of physiotherapy treatment of heel pain. VAS rating was measured pre and post intervention.
Procedure: The patient underwent a 4-week treatment plan, consisting of 15 sessions, with Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization modalities applied for 10 minutes, TheraBand exercises for 15 minutes, and reported a VAS rating of 8, indicating moderate pain relief.
Results: This Case study founded that there is significant reduction in pain, as the VAS score reduce from 8 to 2. Tenderness also reduces.
Conclusion: This case study concludes that Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization and resistance band exercise can be included in the rehabilitation of a patient fat pad atrophy.
Implication: According to the research, women’s chronic heel discomfort may be exacerbated by fat pad atrophy. We have discovered that the best outcomes are obtained when instrument-assisted soft tissue manipulation is combined with resistance band strengthening.
